Now that 2009 is here, there are a lot of people who can’t stop complaining about 2008. Now, don’t get me wrong; I am well aware of the fact that 2008 was not a good year at all in the area of the economy. Like just about everyone I know, I definitely lost some money throughout 2008. However, even though my personal wealth did take a hit, this doesn’t mean that 2008 was a complete waste.
As a result of the struggling economy, I realized that it was important for me to take my work ethic to the next level. Not only did this result in a promotion at work, but it also lead to me getting the foundation created for a company of my own. While I’m not planning on leaving my current job anytime soon, I am really pleased with the progress I have made with my own company. By spending time working on this instead of wasting it watching television, I have been able to accomplish a lot.
To top off the positive side of 2008, I got to take a trip with my wife to New Zealand, and it is one that I know I will remember for a long time to come.
